Map shows areas, countries, continents or the whole earth reduced in size. A physical map shows different features such as plains, hills and mountains. They are marked in different colours. Plains are green, hills are yelloweish-brown and mountains are brown on the physical map. 

Rivers, lakes, seas and oceans are also marked on the physical map. The colour of the water is always blue on the map.
