Around the Sun, and around other stars as well, we can find planets. Planets and moons do not have their own light; they only reflect some light from the Sun. Our Solar Sytem has eight planets and some other dwarf planets. In their order from the Sun, the planets are: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. All planets revolve around the Sun on their own elliptical orbit. Most of the planets have their own moons, and many of them have more than one. The Earth has only one moon.
Our Sun is a star. The Milky Way is our home galaxy, with more than 200 billion stars. Our Sun is only one of them.
There are some other objects revolve around our Sun. These are asteroids, comets, gas and dust clouds. Comets are usually ice-balls. The most famous comet is Halley's comet. Asteroids are smaller or bigger rocks in our Solar System.
The Earth is probably the only planet in the Solar system where life has appeared. You can find continents and oceans on the surface of the Earth. These are: Africa, Australia, America (North and South), Antarctica (South Pole), Europe and Asia. Oceans are the Pacific, Atlantic and Indian ocean.
